NEWSLINE PAPER
,- ChatGPT's owner, OpenAI, isly developing a search engine or search engine based on artificial intelligence or AI technology. Based on findings spread in online forums, OpenAI is creating a domain name called'search.chatgpt.com' and a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) certificate for a website, which is required to authenticate a website.

If it's true that the search engine domain is based on ChatGPT, then OpenAI will fight against competitors like Google Search or its own parent company, Microsoft Bing. It's just that it's still a rumor because the domain'search.chatgpt.com' is still inaccessible. The company also hasn't given any information about the search engine's products.

But some time ago it was viral on social media X that OpenAI wanted to create an AI search engine based on the ChatGPT product. In fact, search engines with AI technology are not new. In 2022, there was a chatbot-based search engine called Perplexity AI.

Users can search their questions and browse the internet to find relevant information in text form as well as display websites that can offer additional information, as by Gadgets360, Wednesday (8/5/2024).

Perplexity AI itself uses Microsoft Bing for web indexes. If the rumor is true, the OpenAI-built search engine product is likely to work similarly.
