"Man in the Iron Lung," has passed away at the age of 78


Legendary as the "Man in the Iron Lung," Paul Alexander died at the age of 78. Alexander, whose polio left him mostly confined to an iron lung, won the admiration of people all around the world with his tenacity and optimism.


Even with the difficulties his illness presented, Alexander continued to be involved and active in his neighborhood. He inspired a great deal of people by showing incredible bravery and tenacity in the face of hardship.



Alexander supported polio awareness and research all of his life in an effort to save others the suffering he went through. Everyone that knew him will cherish and remember his efforts to the fields of healthcare and disability rights.



Although an era has come to an end with Alexander's death, his legacy will motivate next generations to overcome challenges with tenacity and fortitude. His loved ones and the innumerable people he touched will long remember him.
